Proverbs 15 is taken from the New Living Translation (NLT)

Our words are powerful. The can speak blessings or curses, but they can’t speak both at the same time. If we are wise, we think before we speak. Our words can hurt or cause joy. A smile makes a heart glad. Such simple things, words and a smile. Can we control our anger to keep from speaking angry words.  A Hot tempered person causes fights, a cool head stops them. Which one do you want to be. I want to be the cool headed person, but sometimes my Irish temper gets the best of me.

Proverbs 14 is taken from the New Living Translation (NLT)

Verses 9 & 30 jump out for me today. Verse 9 says “fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowldge and seek reconciliation.”

Why do lie or make fun of things we have done wrong. Sometimes we act like it’s no big deal. But it is. God wants us to admit our mistakes (ours sins) and He will forgive us so we can start new.  When we admit what we have done wrong and seek forgiveness, it changes us. One of my favorite sayings is Christians, we are not perfect, just forgiven.

Here we have another list of how we should act and how we should not act. There are traits listed on how the Lord wants us to be, humble, honesty, gracious, wise, godly, righteous, upright citizen, and trustworthy just to name a few.

Proverbs 10 is taken from the New Living Translation (NLT)

What happens when we are wise, or when we are foolish? What happens to the Godly or the Wicked?

The verses in Proverbs 10 tell you how to act, and what happens when we make the choices to our wise or foolish actions.

Verse 19 says “Too much talk leads to sin.  Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.”  It’s taken me many years to realize how true this is. We are always trying to prove we are right or someone is wrong. Why do we do that? I know I always had to be right. It was a fair reasoning that I should let someone know what they did was wrong or even hurtful. There have been times when God has literally shut my mouth. I am thankful for those times

Proverbs 6 is taken from the New Living Translation

When I opened my bible to read this proverb, I noticed that I had circled verses 6-11, 16-19. That means I have read this before and it spoke to me. I have always struggled with my finances. My bible study mentions that we should not over extend our resources. As I prayed, for years, for help in this area, God answered by showing me how to save with coupons. Couponing has became a major part of my financial life.
